Lee´s heritage collection, Lee 101 takes inspiration from the 1950´s and the American workwear tradition, making use of exclusive premium denim.

 

The selvage denims are produced on the very same looms that, mostly exported to Japan, created the originals in the U.S. until 50 years ago.

New sizes up to  Waist 40. Lee used to make 101 only untill W36.

Bettie and Cheetah by Olivia.

In 1954 Bettie did a photo session with Bunny Yeager at the Africa USA wildlife park in Boca Raton, Florida. She wore a leopard-patterned "jungle girl" outfit of her own making and posed barefoot in trees, with various animals, and as the captive of a cannibal native. She also posed nude with a pair of cheetahs. The photos from this session are some of her most celebrated.

NPS Shoes Ltd (Northampton Productive Society) was founded in 1881 and produces the brand Solovair.

All their boots and shoes are made in the UK from start to finish using the Goodyear Welted construction method.

 

In 1959 the NPS factory produced the very first pair of Dr. Martens and for more than 35 years they produced

Dr. Martens under licence all labeled with ”Dr. Martens by Solovair”.

NPS continues to produce the finest quality footwear.

James Dean in a pair of Lee 101 jeans in Rebel Without A Cause was the birth of the the American teenager.The unreal blue of his jeans was actually achieved by over dying. All the denim used in the film was dipped to make the dye appear more vibrantly blue, as using Technicolor would have made it appear muddy green on screen.

People are getting bigger, so Lee 101 rider has new sizes W 38 and W 40.

Is it Bettie or Betty? While it reportedly says "Betty Mae Page" on her birth certificate, "Bettie" is the form that she has always used since she was a child (such as for signatures), so Bettie is therefore the preferred spelling. However, whether due to oversight or for the sake of simplification, in her 1950's photos and films she was often billed as "Betty Page."
