NPS Shoes Ltd (Northampton Productive Society) was founded in 1881 and produces the brand Solovair.

All their boots and shoes are made in the UK from start to finish using the Goodyear Welted construction method.

 

In 1959 the NPS factory produced the very first pair of Dr. Martens and for more than 35 years they produced

Dr. Martens under licence all labeled with ”Dr. Martens by Solovair”.

NPS continues to produce the finest quality footwear.

The real McCoy. Rolls-Royce of the creepers. George Hamilton Cox made his first creepers in 1949.

 

The Cox factory still uses the same Goodyear welted construction, stitching the welt to the insole through the upper and lining.

The insole is bedded on a layer of filler, so it molds to the shape of your foot. And the sole is made from natural plantation crepe.

Is it Bettie or Betty? In 1954 Bettie did a photo session with Bunny Yeager at the Africa USA wildlife park in Boca Raton, Florida. She wore a leopard-patterned "jungle girl" outfit of her own making and posed barefoot in trees, with various animals, and as the captive of a cannibal native. She also posed nude with a pair of cheetahs. The photos from this session are some of her most celebrated.
